2004/2010
HD-video 10 min, b&w/sound, object.

—It was perhaps my coolest look. Black, thigh-high patent boots, slightly worn out  from plenty visits to the park.

Untitled (by the River of Säve unfolds the concept of ‘Force Majeure’ (state of emergency) and its various connotations through animated dialogue and object. The script is based on an interview with an older trans person who found themselves in a situation that escalated into physical violence at a rest stop, which is a well-known cruising site. They usually visit these places and tie themselves down, but this time something went awry and they realised they had lost control of the situation.
The boundaries regarding whether the incident can be viewed as an assault or not become blurred, which in itself creates a legal grey area. At the same time, the work highlights desire through a BDSM scenario in which boundaries are disregarded and expressions of femininity are viewed with contempt. The film consists of an animation in the form of text and sound installed alongside a replica of a picnic table, which plays a crucial part in the narrative.
