WE FEEL A DESIRE FOR CARESSES BY MEN
(PORTRAIT PARLÈ)
Muséhagen
Muséplass 3, 5017 Bergen, Norway
12 June, 2022
At 16:00 and 18:00

We Feel a Desire for Caresses by Men (Portrait Parlé) is a development of a performance shown at  Göteborgs Konsthall earlier in 2022. In this new version, specially conceived for VOLT, the many voices of forensic psychiatric documents form a monologue, performed by an actor as a choreographic mirroring of an erotic photo collection. The bodily and sensual becomes a source of resistance and empowerment, activated in the present and moving through time to permeate and heal  the wounds of history.

BIENNIALS AS SITES OF HISTORICAL NARRATION—Thinking through Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art
April, 2022

It is GIBCA’s pleasure to announce the launch of the publication Biennials as Sites of Historical Narration—Thinking through Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art edited by Lisa Rosendahl and published with Mousse Publishing. A resource for curatorial studies and exhibition history, the book explores how artists and curators evoke the past as a part of the present within the framework of contemporary art biennials through essays, interviews and excerpts of artworks, and takes the editions of 2019 and 2021 of GIBCA as case-studies.
