Three-channel video-installation, approx 30 mins, MiniDV transferred to digital files.
Three men with whom I had different relationships during the same period were asked to participate in a collaborative process. I wanted them to tell their version and story of what had happened. I needed to hear the ‘truth’ from them.
Together, we wrote a script based on their first draft. The footage was filmed in staged and arranged poses where they acted (or didn’t act) like themselves. In the different parts of the stories, places, music, people, and various identity markers recur, but it is unclear who they are referring to—the same person or each other. A somewhat fragmented picture of a young man unfolds, elusive in his excessive confidence and detached anxiety.
